Description
Whiplash Gasser 2nd generation
We use 100% carbon and high-quality aviation aluminum as production materials. All shafts in the model are hardened and tempered.
The oneway bearing is designed for extreme loads. The tail wheel is made of a material similar to PEEK. Here we rely on a special material made in Germany. This guarantees low wear, even at the highest speeds.
The Whiplash Gasser is a high-performance model for main rotor blades up to 720mm and for engines between 27ccm and 31ccm.
We offer special petrol / turbine main rotor blades that are slightly heavier and optimized for speeds from 1800 to 2000 rpm (MA3700-711).
The noise level of the model is in the range of 69 to 71 dB (depending on the orientation of the model) measured at a distance of 25 meters at 1950 rpm in hovering flight at a height of 1 meter above the ground.

Engine: we recommend a 270 to 310 size (26 to 30.5ccm) engine balanced and optimized for use in R/C helicopters. We recommend NOT to use an engine based on the Zenoah RC320.
Muffler: you can use the Zimmermann Whiplash edition muffler or the M-Studio pipe. The Zimmermann is made from stainless steel. The M-Studio is about 100g less in weight.
Blades: we recommend 710 to 720mm main blades. We have good experience with 716 Rail, 713 Switch, 720 MS-Composite and we have a special 710 MS-Composite which is optimized for the Whiplash gasser and turbine. 105mm tail blades work best.
Servos: you will need servos which can handle the vibrations of a gas helicopter. Most experience we have with Futaba
Governor: it is highly recommended to use a governor at a gas helicopter. The Futaba and Bavarian Demon Axon FBLs do include very good governors. So you will not need any separate one. If you use a FBL without a governor or with a governor which cannot handle gas engines you can use the Futaba GY701 or GV-1 governor for example.
Receiver battery: any 2S LiPo / LiFe or 5S NiMh battery with at least 3500mAh
Switch: we recommend a high quality electronical switch like the Futaba P-FESW-1D. It is important to use high quality connectors which can handle the vibrations. The Futaba switch comes with deans connectors also for the battery.
